Weekly Recap

So the whole updating the blog on Friday night or Saturday morning did not work out this week. Maybe next week though.

Last Sunday, Wes, Anna and I went to Danville to see the traveling replica of the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. It was pretty neat, especially if you are a history buff (which I am not). Wes and I went to see the movie "Baby Mama", not good. I don't recommend it.

Nothing happened Monday. Tuesday evening my brother and sister-in-law had their baby, Little Lily Marie Cash. She was born at 9:18 pm on April 29th. My parents left for Indy that night, so I had to scramble to find a babysitter for Anna for the rest of the week. Thank God that I have the sweetest friend, Marissa, who watched Anna Wednesday and Thursday. Marissa has her own 6 month old to keep up, I don't know how she did it with both of the babies (although they are both sooo cute). On Friday, my boss' wife watched Anna and she got to play with older children. She loves to watch what they do. Then Friday night we took Anna down to my parents for the weekend. Wes and I left for Indy on Saturday morning to go see Lily! She is absolutely beautiful and sooo little! It ALMOST made me wish for another little one. Saturday night, Wes and I got to meet up with one of my oldest friends, Kate for dinner and drinks in Indy. On Sunday, Wes and I spent half the day with my sister and my adorable nephews and the other half of the day with my brother and Little Lily. I think I will call her Little Lily from now on. So needless to say I was not around my computer to update this thing. Oh and I lost one of my cameras, so no pics! BOO!!!

New Neice!!

My brother, Jon, and his wife, Amanda, had their baby last night at 9:18 pm. After only 4 hours of labor!!!! They didn't find out the sex of the baby the whole pregnancy, so a baby girl was a surprise!!!!!

Welcome Little Lily Marie Cash!!!
7 lbs 4 ounces
20 inches!

Hopefully I will get a pic up this weekend!!

See I Am Making Time

So I have decided that either Friday nights after Anna goes to bed, or during her Saturday morning naps I can update this blog. Lets recap the week. Last Sunday we got some visitors, Wes' dad (Popo) and his grandfather (Pa Fred) came up for the day to visit. I haven't seen them since Christmas and Wes and Anna saw them last in February, so it was a treat for us to see them last Sunday. They brought Anna some nice gifts and some cute outfits (Thanks for the drum...she has not stop playing with it!!) Here is Miss Anna in one of the cute outfits:

Then Sunday night we had a cookout with the neighbors. Anna met their dog, Tabby, who liked to kiss her on the mouth. Come to find out that our neighbor and Wes' co-worker, William, used to be in movies. He starred in The Wilgus Stories ( www.itvs.org/wilgus/ ) when he was 10 and 14. They are cute little short movies about lifechanging events growing up in the Appalachia Region. You can sometimes catch these movies on KET, if you're lucky.

Wednesday we went to the Lexington Legends baseball game. We sat real close to the first base line and I got kinda scared that they were going to foul it our way and hit us. Anna lasted til the 4th inning (not bad for a 9 month old) til she got bored and was ready to go home. It was almost her bedtime anyway. Here is Anna at her first baseball game:

Thursday and Friday Anna spent the days and night with her grandparents, like every week. Her new favorite word is Pop Pop and she will look for her Papaw is you say it. Anna has also started dancing. She will dance in her high chair by shaking her arms and head, or if she is standing at the coffee table she holds on and moves her body back and forth. It really is just too cute. She has taken quite a liking to listening to music and watching music videos.

So Much Time..

I have decided that I am a terrible blogger. I need to set up a time every week and update this thing (for you oh so faithful readers....I know there must be one of you). I finally dumped my photos all into folders from the past 3 months and got them organized. Everything has just been chaotic in my life. I started my new job in February and just when I get into the swing of things and get comfortable, they decide to throw more stuff my way. Now some aren't too bad, an extra 5 or 6 six phone calls everyday, but the task of taking 25 plus pictures each of about 300 vehicles and then filing them in folders and then uploading them onto our website might be a little more demanding of my time. I just get home and sometimes don't want to look at the computer. I missed work yesterday, due to Anna's doctors appointments, so when I showed up today I had over 30 leads that needed to be emailed and called, then a meeting at 10, and then on to following up with past leads, figuring out deals from the weekend and then uploading the pics on the website. Needless to say, No lunch break for Jessika. Back to Anna and her doctors appointment! She had her 9 month check up and only got one shot!! Yeah! She weighed in at 19 of sweetness and 3 ounces of stubborness. She is still in the 50% for weight, thats a long way from the 5% percentile she was once in. She was 27 inches short....yeah she's still in the 25% for height. I have given her the nickname of Teapot, because she is short and stout. On the other hand, her head circumference was in the 75% (there's alot of brains up there). And these are my most favorite recent pics of Anna Banana. Notice that in most of the pictures her shirts have food on them...She loves to eat everything!! So this is the only picture that would upload tonight in the time frame that I have been alotted. I need to get some sleep. Hopefully I will get them up by Friday!

Tagged!!!!

So I have been tagged and here are my answers:

5 things on my to-do list:

clean the entire house
laundry, laundry and more laundry
shop for baby shower items
plan a trip to north carolina
grocery shop

5 snacks I enjoy:

laughing cow cheese and wheat thins
take 5 candy bars
anything with caramel
lemon poppyseed muffins
cookies

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire?

I would probably quit my job, build a house out in the meadow (right next to my parents), buy a Range Rover, TRAVEL!!! to anywhere my little heart desired, and make sure Wes' and I's families are well taken care of, and invest. There is just too much to do with a billion dollars, I would definately need help spending it.

5 places I have lived:

Cicero, IN - the best place ever
Lexington, KY
Nicholasville, KY
Versailles, KY
Georgetown, KY

5 jobs I have had:

Thoroughbred Chevrolet - BDC Manager
Paul Miller - various, catch all, everything
Retail: Macy's, Express Men, Limited Too, Gap
Nanny - this might have been my favorite
Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - would definately do this again!

3 things you probably don't know about me:

I have never eaten actual fish. I just can't do it. I grew up on a lake and just keep thinking about all the dead fish that float up to the shore and the horrid smell and.....just NO. I won't ever eat fish.

I have two horrible fears: floppy socks and peeing in the shower! My child will not be running around with her socks flopping off the ends of her toes. She could trip, fall, smack her head. Floppy socks is a very dangerous disease. I cringe just thinking about them. And peeing in the shower? Now who would ever think it was a good idea to relieve yourself where you get clean! It's just a bad, disgusting thing to do. YUCK!

I don't like to sleep alone. And if I have to sleep alone, there is usually a light on in the room. It's not that I am scared of the dark....I just really don't like to be alone and always want someone around to talk to.

So this is the part where I tag other people.....So if you read this you are TAGGED!

Things I have learned from an 8 month old

1. The morning isn't so bad - it actually feels good not to sleep in all day. It's quiet and I get things done.

2. Persistence will get you everywhere. Try and try again.

3. The TV is not that amusing.

4. Taking the remote from daddy is a game that will never get old.

5. If I can't do something by myself - ask for help. Anna can't talk yet but she cries.

6. The things that I can't have are the things I want the most.

7. Swinging outside is just about the most relaxing thing to do.

8. If I don't want to say something, then I shouldn't have to. (We have been working on mama and dada with Anna, and she just turns her head the other way as soon as she hears this)

9. I should try all sorts of food, maybe I will like them the second or third time around.

10. It doesn't matter what clothes I wear on the weekend. No one other than Wes or Anna are going to see me.

11. Time flies.

Anna is growing so fast. She has been crawling for almost a month now and is into everything. She heads straight for the TV cords or any other cord she can find. She loves to chew on the remote, phones or paper. She has two teeth now and loves to eat. She will eat a whole thing of yogurt at one sitting. She babbles constantly, except when daddy is around. She is spoiled rotten by her Grammy who watches her everyday now. She cries when Grammy leaves and she doesn't even do that for me! She loves taking a bath and I can't wait to get her into swimming lessons. Now if only I could find a good place around here that has Mommy and Me classes late at night or on Saturdays!

Well this weekend Anna and I are off to Indy to visit my family and go to my sister-in-laws baby shower. We don't know yet whether Wes will go or not, he hasn't decided. I haven't ever driven more than a half hour with Anna by myself, so we'll see how everything goes!

Two Docs in One Day

We had Anna's 6 month post op appointment today. It went well so to say. The surgeon looked at Anna's "belly button" and said that there might be a defect. Didn't say what the defect was or anything. Well as soon as Anna heard defect she started crying. Maybe it was a coincidence or something but she knew we weren't talking good words. The good thing is though that the surgeon said it was nothing to worry about and he wouldn't need to see her until she was two years old. Now who schedules a doctors appointment 18 months in advance? We do. We then had to go to Anna's regular pediatrician for her 6 month check up and shots. She weighed in at 16 lbs 7 ounces (50th percentile) and 25 1/2 inches ( 25th percentile, yeah she is short). The doctor said she looked great and was right on schedule for everything. She is beginning to get her second bottom tooth and things aren't too bad. Well after the doctor we waited for the nurse to come in, we waited and waited and waited. 45 minutes later we got a little tired of waiting and figured we would find someone. Well they had forgotten about us. The nurse came in, gave her her three shots, she cried for a minute and then passed out. No fever or excessive crying, which means no allergic reactions..Good. We go back in a month for another flu shot.

I start my new job tomorrow. Little nervous, a lot excited! I've been doing the same thing for 3 1/2 years and I now have the opportunity to run my own department. Too bad it's at a new dealership. I will miss the people I worked with, unfortunately I can't say the same for the place I worked at. Just call me Manager Jessika from now on!

So Big!!

Anna is 6 months old now and is so big! She rolls around and sits up all by herself. She just got her first tooth and the experience wasn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be. She has never been much of a fussy baby at all. She has begun to eat food and is getting quite good at it. She loves peaches, but doesn't seem to like sweet potatoes so much. She sleeps all night and when she wakes in the morning we feed her a bottle and she will go right back to sleep for another couple of hours. She watches EVERYTHING and everything goes straight to her mouth. She is so anxious to get a hold of Pete, but he is still a little too quick for her. He is beginning to warm up to her. I finally caught him and he gave Anna a couple of kisses on her cheek. The picture above was taken by my friend Julie (who did an absolutely great job as Anna is not that into getting her picture taken) for her 6 month portfolio. Other than Anna growing up on me there has not been too many exciting things happening. Sorry for no blogs lately, I just had nothing to write about!
